Dirty Martin's Place

Dirty Martin's Place is an Austin tradition that has been serving the community since 1926. Originally opened as Martin's KumBak by John Martin, this beloved burger restaurant started with humble beginnings - just a single flat top grill, an eight-stool bar, and a small drive-through. The restaurant earned its nickname "Dirty's" in the early 1950s when concrete floors finally replaced the original dirt floors that had been there since its opening.

This historic establishment has maintained its charm while evolving over the decades. The space now features a historic front room, a backroom event space, and a full bar. Despite renovations that have enclosed what was once an outdoor patio and added modern amenities like televisions, Dirty's has preserved its authentic character and continues to serve burgers whose recipes have remained virtually unchanged for nearly a century.
