Texas French Bread

Texas French Bread began as a charming from-scratch bakery in Austin back in 1981, and has since become a beloved local institution serving generations of Austinites. Their delightful garden space welcomes visitors for breakfast and lunch with a menu that combines classic favorites with seasonal specials.

After suffering a devastating fire in January 2022 that destroyed their historic building, they've resilently continued operations from a 1971 Airstream food trailer under a giant oak tree in their lovely garden. They're currently working toward rebuilding their original location with plans to return in the near future.
