The Venue

Rosa Pottery Studio is a welcoming ceramics space where creativity, community, and clay all come together in joyful, sometimes delightfully messy harmony. Tucked inside a cozy studio at 8711 Burnet Rd Ste F65 in Austin, it invites beginners, hobbyists, and seasoned artists alike to play, experiment, and grow their skills.

The studio’s mission centers on being a safe, hate-free zone that celebrates the full spectrum of identity. Rosa Pottery Studio intentionally nurtures an inclusive, affirming environment, especially for LGBTQ+ and POC students, where everyone is encouraged to show up as their authentic self and feel supported as they learn.

Classes are a big part of the fun here. You’ll find structured multi-week courses that walk you from the basics of wheel throwing and hand-building into more advanced techniques, as well as one-time intro sessions that are perfect for curious first-timers, date nights, or creative outings with friends. Specialty workshops pop up regularly too, giving students the chance to try new forms, surfaces, and styles without pressure.

The studio is thoughtfully outfitted with professional equipment, a variety of tools, and a colorful selection of reliable glazes. Eight-week students enjoy the freedom of working with plenty of clay and a consistent firing schedule that keeps projects moving from wet clay to finished work. More advanced makers can apply for studio memberships and open studio time, making Rosa Pottery a long-term creative home rather than a one-and-done experience.

What really brings the space to life is the team behind it. Led by owner and teacher Hillary, the crew includes technicians, throwing experts, hand-building masters, creative technicians, and community-minded instructors who combine deep knowledge with a relaxed, encouraging teaching style. They are there to troubleshoot wobbly walls, cheer on brave new ideas, and help turn “happy little mistakes” into surprisingly beautiful pots.
