Jazzmeia Horn

Born in Dallas in 1991, she grew up singing gospel in a tight-knit church family and honed her craft at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts—alums include Roy Hargrove, Norah Jones, and Erykah Badu.
After studying at The New School in NYC, Jazzmeia triumphed in the 2013 Sarah Vaughan and 2015 Thelonious Monk competitions, launching her career with Concord Records. Her debut album A Social Call (2017) and follow-up Love and Liberation (2019) both snagged Grammy nods, blending jazz standards, originals, and messages of love and social change.
