He's released 5 CDs as a leader and appears on more than 40 others as a sideman, collaborating with artists across jazz, world music, and pop. This marks his first performance at Parker Jazz Club in Austin, and he's thrilled to share the stage with his dear friend and favorite musician Joel Frahm.

Wessel's artistry blends jazz with blues, North Indian Raga, free music, and American traditions. Joel Frahm appears on Wessel's acclaimed CD Weights & Measures, which earned 4 stars in DownBeat magazine. Critics praise Wessel's work, with Bill Milkowski calling his album Unstrung "a superb showcase for a talented guitarist who has been flying under the radar for too long."
