Troy Campbell is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and co-founder of the influential alt-country band Loose Diamonds, performing his distinctive blend of folk, alt-country, and rock music.

Campbell got his start in the Dayton, Ohio punk rock scene in the late 1980s before moving to Austin, Texas to pursue music full-time. His pivotal encounter with Texas music legend Alejandro Escovedo led to the formation of his first band, The Highwaymen, which eventually evolved into Loose Diamonds.
His powerful, distinctive voice—described by Bruce Springsteen as having a "high lonesome, wide-open sound"—is complemented by his keening falsetto and emotionally direct songwriting that explores themes of desolation and hope-filled abandonment.
Beyond performing, Campbell is the founder of The House of Songs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting musicians from around the world through collaboration and shared performances. He's also worked as a filmmaker, animation producer, and created the PBS series "City of Songs," which explores the musical identities of cities worldwide.
His landmark album "American Breakdown" was originally released in 2001 and has been reissued on vinyl. The deeply personal record, produced by Gurf Morlix, captures Campbell at a peak of lyrical clarity with roots music that blends folk, alt-country, and late-night rock.
