Social Order (SXSW)
Social Order brings their cinematic darkwave post-punk sound to Elysium in Austin. This Los Angeles and Las Vegas-based trio—featuring Mason Musso and Anthony Improgo (formerly of Metro Station) alongside Andrew Ward (Nuwave Fighters)—blends melodic pop, post-punk, and darkwave into an intimate yet expansive sonic experience.
Formed during the isolation of 2020, Social Order has built a reputation for emotionally charged, entirely self-produced music that explores the tension between nostalgia and reinvention, light and shadow. Their breakthrough moment came with standout tracks like "Boys" and "Lights Off," which earned them placements on Spotify's Darkwave playlist and recognition from Alternative Press and Post-Punk.com.
The band's recent work has been nothing short of prolific. In 2025, they released two distinct EPs—Miss You and Strangers—that showcase their evolution as artists. Miss You captures the emotional weight of longing and displacement, while Strangers steps boldly into brightness and immediacy, proving the band's willingness to evolve while staying true to their darkwave roots.
Social Order made their major festival debut at Cruel World and completed a North American tour with French Police, continuing to expand their shadowy, emotionally charged world. Their DIY ethos and fearless approach to songwriting make them a must-see live act.
This is an official event at Elysium, located at 705 Red River in Austin. Check the event page for details on badges, wristbands, and priority access.
