Get ready for a wild night in the heart of downtown when The Thing teams up with Grocery Bag and sexpop for a high-energy show that’s all about loud guitars, big hooks, and sweaty, up-close vibes. This is one of those club nights where you’re right in the middle of the action, shoulder to shoulder with other music fans, soaking in every riff and drum hit.

Your ticket gets you general admission with mostly standing room, so expect a true rock-club feel. Limited seating may pop up on a first-come, first-served basis, but this one is really built for dancing, bobbing your head, and getting lost in the sound. If you need ADA accommodations, the venue encourages you to reach out ahead of time so they can help make your night as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Rolling in by car? Downtown parking can be a puzzle, but you’ve got options. You can snag a prepaid garage spot through a parking app, hunt for street parking (always double-check those signs and pay stations), or spring for valet across the street at the nearby hotel for a quicker in-and-out between the car and the club.

Come hungry, because this venue has its own little slice of comfort-food history built right in. At the bar, you can fuel up on beer-steamed Cliffy Dog hotdogs and Antone’s Famous Po Boys, a lineup of old-school sandwiches with serious pedigree. Choose from the Original, Turkey & Swiss, Premium Roast Beef, Tuna, or The Piggy, then add a bag of Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle Style chips and you’ve basically got a road-trip meal without leaving your barstool.

Between the stacked bill, the downtown energy, and the mix of loud music, late-night snacks, and a tightly packed crowd, this show is tailor-made for anyone who loves discovering bands in a room that feels raw, real, and buzzing. Grab some friends, claim your spot on the floor, and let The Thing, Grocery Bag, and sexpop turn your night into a noisy little legend.

The Venue

Antone's Nightclub at 305 E 5th St in Austin, TX, is the legendary Home of the Blues, founded in 1975 by Clifford Antone in a gritty downtown spot on Sixth Street.

From its explosive opening with zydeco king Clifton Chenier, the club has rocked with blues giants like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, and James Brown, while launching local stars such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

  1. Started as a funky furniture store turned music haven, defying the era's redneck rock scene.
  2. Moved around Austin—Guadalupe near UT, Riverside, and back to its spiritual Fifth Street home in 2015.
  3. Over 50 years, it's a living shrine to authentic blues, drawing crowds for soul-stirring nights of live music magic.

Step inside for that timeless vibe where the blues never dies—pure Austin legend!
