ATX TV Festival presents TSTV Student Pilot Showcase
Details
Get ready to cheer on the next generation of TV creators at the ATX TV Festival presents TSTV Student Pilot Showcase. This special screening celebrates the bold, inventive work of students in the year-long TSTV (Texas Student Television) Incubator Program, where they’ve taken their ideas from pitch to polished pilot.
Throughout the program, these emerging filmmakers have learned the nuts and bolts of modern independent production, collaborating on everything from writing and casting to shooting and post. With support, feedback, and industry insight from ATX TV, they’ve turned their concepts into fully realized half-hour episodes made to be seen on the big screen.
- PULSE – A stylish dive into the world of music, money, and boxing promotions, where ambition clashes with loyalty as Nico must decide how far he’ll go to succeed.
- STUDENT FILM – A meta, high-pressure shoot where a thesis film collides with a campus-wide protest, blending dark comedy, urgency, and social commentary.
- THE QUEEN – A genre-bending story about a socially anxious teen haunted by hallucinations of alien royalty, forcing her to question whether she’s destined for greatness or slipping into madness.
- THIS CALL MAY BE RECORDED – A sharp look at ethics and survival, following a new hire at a shady telemarketing agency as he weighs quick cash against his conscience.
- WINE TO WATER – A heartfelt dramedy about a washed-up actor, mysterious booze-fueled visions, and a ragtag crew trying to fix their community while fixing themselves.
Single ticket holders are welcomed into the historic theatre to join festival badgeholders for a communal big-screen experience. Seating is first-come, first-served, so arriving early means more time to soak in the festival buzz, swap recommendations, and connect with other TV and film lovers.
If you’re curious about where television is headed, this showcase is a front-row seat to fresh voices, ambitious storytelling, and the creative energy that keeps Austin’s screen scene thriving.
