Roll up your sleeves and get ready to squad up with the Buzz Mill Shore Corps for a feel-good morning that actually makes a visible difference on the water.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 8:30 to 11:30am, the Buzz Mill Shore Corps is teaming up with Squatch Frontier Fitness, the Texas River School, and the Lumber Society for a big Town Lake Shore Clean. This is your chance to join a crew of river-loving Austinites and help rescue the shoreline from trash—both on land and from the water.

The day kicks off with everyone meeting at Buzz Mill Coffee at 8:30am before heading out to the lakeside. With eight 2-person canoes available, volunteers can paddle out and snag all the junk that’s just out of reach from the shore. Those canoe spots are first-come, first-served, so early birds not only get the worm, they get the boat.

What you’ll be doing: Picking up litter along the shore, hopping into canoes to clean hard-to-reach spots, and helping keep Town Lake beautiful.
Why it’s awesome: You’ll get fresh air, a light workout, and the satisfaction of seeing the shoreline get cleaner by the bagful.
Perks: After the clean-up, everyone heads back to Buzz Mill and Santo Patio for a snack and a drink on the house as a thank-you for pitching in.

Supplies won’t be a problem—tools and gloves are provided (though you’re welcome to bring your own favorites). Just make sure you show up prepared like the eco-hero you are.

Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
Wear work-ready clothes: long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes.
Don’t forget sunscreen and bug spray—this is the outdoors, after all.
