West Texas Exiles

4.7

Details

West Texas Exiles are bringing their big-sky Americana to Austin for a Monday-night set that feels equal parts road trip, honky-tonk, and heart-on-the-sleeve storytelling. With roots in El Paso, Lubbock, and Amarillo, this five-piece blends country, alternative, folk-rock, and blues into a sound that’s wide open, richly lived-in, and unmistakably Texan.

Built around the songwriting trio of Marco Gutierrez, Daniel Davis, and Colin Gilmore, the band has the kind of chemistry that comes from years of shared stages and West Texas miles. Gutierrez helped launch the Dirty River Boys, while Gilmore brings a storied family lineage from Texas music royalty, and the whole group is powered by Eric Harrison on bass and production and Trinidad Leal on drums.

If you like your Americana with a little dust on the boots and plenty of muscle in the chorus, this is the kind of show that can turn a regular night into a local favorite. The band’s debut EP introduced the project, and their full-length album 8000 Days pushed things even further with songs that have been winning attention on Americana radio and in the live room.

Expect a set that nods to classic Texas songcraft while still feeling fresh and road-ready. West Texas Exiles have sharpened their sound through a steady Austin residency and plenty of festival and touring experience, so there’s a good chance the performance will feel polished, loose, and ready to roll.

  • Authentic West Texas roots and storytelling
  • Triple-songwriter lineup for rich harmonies and varied perspectives
  • Americana with country, folk-rock, and blues flavor
  • Live-tested songs from a band that knows how to work a room
  • A great pick for fans of Texas troubadours and modern roots music
