Freeing Your Creative Practice
Details
Freeing Your Creative Practice is a welcoming workshop for artists who feel stuck, overly self-critical, or boxed in by the pressure to make work that looks good to everyone else. Taking place at the Dougherty Arts Center, this session is all about reconnecting with the part of you that makes art for the joy, curiosity, and freedom of it.
Expect a creative reset with practical exercises you can use every day to nurture your inner artist, loosen perfectionism’s grip, and bring back a sense of wonder to your process. It’s the kind of workshop that reminds you art doesn’t have to be polished to be powerful — and that making space for authenticity can open the door to fresh ideas.
Presented by Austin-based multimedia artist Rhodalynn Jetton, the experience draws from her expressive work in calligraphy and abstract art, along with her broader creative and spiritual practice. Jetton is also the author of Wild Silence: A Collection of Poetry and Prose and the founder of Wholehearted & Courageous, bringing a thoughtful, heart-centered perspective to the workshop.
