Rebirth Wednesdays - Midweek Ecstatic Dance

Rebirth Wednesdays is your midweek permission slip to shake off the day and remember who you really are—through pure, no-frills ecstatic dance.

This gathering brings back the original Austin ecstatic dance practice style: no lectures, no elaborate add-ons, just you, the music, and a room full of people committed to moving from the inside out. It’s all about creating a gentle, sustainable mind/body movement practice that feels so much better on the other side.

  • 6:45 – Doors Open

  • 7:00 – Warmup Dance starts

  • 8:00 – Opening Circle

  • 8:15 – Main Wave starts

  • 9:30 – Closing Circle

The space is held as a safe, inclusive container with clear consent guidelines and boundaries. All of that structure is there so your nervous system can relax, your mind can soften, and your body can lead. Think of it like yoga or meditation, but with more sweat, more music, and way more freedom to express.

Music is curated by a rotating cast of DJ-style facilitators who craft full 5Rhythms-inspired waves: beginning in grounding Flowing, rising into wild, cathartic Chaos, and finally landing in spacious Stillness. You’ll get a generous 60-minute warmup to arrive and unwind, followed by a 60–75 minute main wave designed to help you surrender, deepen, and blossom in your aliveness.

There’s no right way to move here. You can shake, stretch, stomp, sway, roll on the floor, or stand with your eyes closed and barely move at all. Come as you are, dress in comfy layers you can really move (and sweat) in, and bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated between songs.

Regulars love Rebirth Wednesdays because the consistency of the practice teaches the body what safety and freedom feel like again. Week by week, it becomes a ritual reset button: a place to release stress, reconnect with yourself, and emerge calmer, clearer, and more alive in the middle of your week.
