ACL TV TAPING: Ty Myers

4.7

Details

Catch country music’s fastest-rising star in one of the most iconic rooms in the world: Austin City Limits is taping Ty Myers for Season 52, and you can be part of the live studio audience.

This special ACL TV taping kicks off at 8:00 pm sharp, so expect a crisp, no-mess-around start. Theater doors open at 7:00 pm, and the will call/front porch bar opens at 6:00 pm, giving you time to settle in, grab a drink, and soak up the pre-show buzz before the cameras roll.

Unlike a regular concert, an ACL taping is part live show, part TV magic. You’ll see multiple takes, camera resets, and the kind of behind-the-scenes details that never make it to broadcast. It’s intimate, focused, and full of those goosebump moments that made ACL legendary in the first place.

  • How tickets work: Passes are given away via a random drawing, and entering more than once won’t boost your odds—duplicate entries are deleted. Winners get an email with full instructions.

  • Space-available passes: A pass does not guarantee admission. To keep the room full despite no-shows, KLRU issues more passes than the fire-code capacity, so arriving early really matters.

  • Non-transferable: Passes aren’t for sale or trade. They’re tied to you and you only, and you’ll need to follow the instructions in your winner email.

  • Local emphasis: The giveaway is geared toward people in Austin and nearby communities, though out-of-towners can still enter. There just aren’t special accommodations for visitors.

Once you’re inside, phones and cameras stay put away—no photos, no recording, no screens glowing in the dark. It’s just you, the music, and the cameras capturing a performance that will live on in the ACL archives.

Ty Myers is arriving with serious heat. Called “the next face of Country music” by Rolling Stone and “a generational talent” by No Depression, he’s already racked up more than a billion streams and sold out a 73-date tour. His breakout single “Tie That Binds” lit up the internet in 2023, and his 2025 debut album The Select delivered a Platinum hit with “Ends of the Earth,” plus the Gold-certified favorite “Drinkin’ Alone.”

At this taping, you’ll be hearing material from his newly released sophomore album Heavy On The Soul, recorded at the storied FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The record blends country with Southern rock, soul, and blues, backed by heavy-hitting players like guitarist Tom Bukovac and steel guitar legend Bruce Bouton. Myers wrote most of the songs himself, including standouts like “Message to You,” “Leaving Carolina,” “Through a Screen,” “Come On Over, Baby,” and “Two Trains,” his collab with Marcus King.

Raised just outside Austin in Dripping Springs on a six-generation cattle ranch, Myers brings a rooted, lived-in feel to his songs that hits especially hard in front of a hometown crowd. He’s already toured with Luke Combs, Old Dominion, Tim McGraw, the Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, and Willie Nelson, and just launched his own headlining run, The Legal Tour.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience Austin City Limits from the inside—applause breaks, stage banter, retakes and all—this Ty Myers taping is your chance to watch a young heavyweight lock in his legacy on the ACL stage.

Venue Details

Austin City Limits Live, home to ACL Live and 3TEN ACL Live, is a vibrant centerpiece of downtown Austin’s music scene, all gathered at 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd. Built on the legacy of the iconic Austin City Limits television show, the venue fuses modern production with the city’s famously laid-back, music-obsessed spirit.

  1. ACL Live at The Moody Theater is the larger performance hall, known for hosting a wide spectrum of artists, from global touring acts and legendary performers to special events, galas, and festival showcases.
  2. 3TEN ACL Live is the more intimate sibling space, a 350-person club designed for up-close performances where fans feel like part of the show rather than spectators in the back row.
  3. Both spaces are equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, reflecting their roots as professional broadcast and recording stages as well as live concert rooms.
  4. The venue regularly spotlights a mix of world-renowned artists, rising stars, and local Austin talent, making it a go-to spot for discovering new music and catching favorite bands in thoughtfully curated lineups.
  5. Beyond concerts, the flexible spaces often transform for private events, parties, and special performances, all while maintaining the signature Austin City Limits look and feel.

Together, ACL Live and 3TEN ACL Live offer two distinct ways to experience live music under one roof: big, cinematic nights in the main theater and high-energy, club-like shows in the smaller room. Both capture the essence of Austin as the Live Music Capital of the World, blending intimate connections between artists and audiences with polished, professional production.
