Joe Jackson + Band - Hope and Fury Tour 2026

Details

Joe Jackson is bringing his Hope and Fury Tour 2026 to Austin for one night only, and it’s a must-see for anyone who loves sharp songwriting, fearless genre-hopping, and a killer live band.

  • When: Sunday, June 14, 2026

  • Time: Doors at 7:00 pm, show at 8:00 pm

  • Where: The Paramount Theatre (downtown Austin)

This tour celebrates Hope and Fury, Joe Jackson’s 22nd studio album. Described as a “bicoastal Latin-jazz-funk-rock” adventure, the record was crafted between Berlin and New York and reunites Jackson with his longtime collaborators: bassist-for-life Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, drummer Doug Yowell, and percussionist Paulo Stagnaro. Expect a full-band sound that moves effortlessly from tight, rhythm-heavy grooves to reflective, piano-driven ballads.

If you only know Jackson from the late-70s and early-80s hits, this show is a chance to see the whole arc of his career in one night. Starting out in Portsmouth and London, he broke through with the punchy new-wave energy of Look Sharp! in 1979, quickly following it with I’m the Man and the darker, reggae-tinged Beat Crazy. Then he upended expectations with the swing and jump-blues tribute Jumpin’ Jive, and the sophisticated, Latin-percussion-laced Night and Day and Body and Soul.

From there, Jackson kept zigging where others might zag: the stripped-down, live-to-tape Big World, the grand and autobiographical Blaze of Glory, and the introspective Night Music. He dove into concept territory with Heaven and Hell, then revisited New York nightlife with his own favorite underdog album, Night and Day II. Along the way he picked up a Grammy for his unconventional Symphony No. 1 and published his memoir A Cure for Gravity.

Since re-forming the original Joe Jackson Band for 2003’s Volume 4 and the live album Afterlife, he’s continued to explore new corners of his sound. Highlights include the lean, piano-bass-drums power of Rain, the adventurous Ellington tribute The Duke, the globe-hopping Fast Forward, and the wry, literate rock of 2019’s Fool. Even during recent years he kept things unpredictable, from the “Sing, You Sinners!” tour to the music-hall deep dive of What A Racket: The Music of Max Champion.

The Hope and Fury Tour is the live culmination of all that restless creativity. You can expect:

  • New songs from Hope and Fury that blend Latin grooves, jazz colors, funk, and rock bite.

  • Reimagined favorites spanning decades – from spiky new-wave classics to lush, late-night ballads.

  • A band that plays with both precision and spontaneity, leaving room for extended solos and dynamic arrangements.

  • A career-spanning set that feels more like a journey than a greatest-hits shuffle.

Whether you’ve followed Joe Jackson since the days of Look Sharp! or you’re just discovering him through Hope and Fury, this Paramount Theatre date promises a smart, high-energy night of music from one of pop’s most inventive and enduring songwriters.

Bring your curiosity, your favorite album memories, and be ready to hear them transformed on stage.
