Elgin Takes Austin!

4.7

Details

Elginites, this is your moment to turn Austin into a sea of Hogeye spirit! Elgin Takes Austin! is your chance to represent your hometown in a big, joyful way as everyone gathers at the Bullock Texas State History Museum to cheer on Priscillia and celebrate small-town pride on a big-city stage.

First Sundays are free, so it is the perfect excuse to round up friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who loves Elgin. Think of it as a mini Hogeye takeover in the middle of Austin, complete with familiar faces, inside jokes, and plenty of opportunities to show off your favorite Hogeye Festival T-shirt.

  1. Wear your most beloved Hogeye shirt, whether it is a vintage classic or this year’s newest design.
  2. Can’t find one? Get creative and make your own—hand-painted pigs, glittery hogs, and all-out DIY masterpieces are encouraged.
  3. Plan your arrival so you can join the 50+ strong Elgin crew walking into the museum together for maximum impact.
  4. Snap selfies, group photos, and fun candid shots to capture the moment Elgin “takes” Austin.
  5. Explore the museum’s exhibits between cheers, making it a day of culture, history, and community fun.

The goal is simple: show Austin what it looks like when Elgin shows up in full force. Expect laughter, lots of pink and pig-themed flair, and plenty of hometown pride. Come for the art, the fun, and the Elgin energy, and get ready for a pig-tastic day that you will be talking about long after the last photo is snapped.
