Viz Whizz ATX June meet up at Zilker Park

Viz Whizz ATX is rolling into summer with a June pack meet-up at Zilker Park, and it’s all about dogs, fresh air, and easygoing community vibes.

Every month on the 20th, local dog lovers and their four-legged best friends gather at Zilker Park’s Rock Island off-leash dog area for a sunset hangout. On June 20, 2026 at 7:30 pm, you and your pup are invited to join the fun and be part of the Viz Whizz pack.

Picture this: the Austin skyline glowing in the evening light, dogs racing around in happy zoomies, and humans chatting, laughing, and swapping training tips and favorite toy recommendations. It’s low-pressure, high-fun, and all about building a friendly community around our canine companions.

• Who it’s for: All friendly dogs and their humans are welcome – you don’t need to have a Vizsla to join in. If your pup enjoys polite play and you enjoy good company, you’re in the right place.
• Host & pack leaders: Check in with your host Thomas and his Vizslas, Cassie & Casey, when you arrive. They’re your go-to crew for finding the group and getting introduced to other attendees.
• Vibe: Casual, social, and dog-forward. Think group dog park meetup with a little extra intention – people come to let their pups romp and to make new human friends, too.
• What to bring: Water for you and your dog, poop bags, and a leash for transitioning in and out of the off-leash area. A blanket or camp chair can be nice if you plan to linger and chat while the dogs play.
• What to expect: Lots of running, sniffing, and social play for the dogs; relaxed conversations and shared dog stories for the humans; and plenty of opportunities to swap recommendations on vets, trainers, trails, and gear.

The Rock Island area offers plenty of space for dogs to stretch their legs, and the early evening start time is perfect for catching cooler temps and a beautiful sunset backdrop. Whether you’re new to town, looking to socialize your pup, or just want an excuse to spend more time outside, this meetup is an easy “yes.”
