Andy Langham Quartet

4.9

Details

Settle into the hush of a true listening room and get ready to be swept away by the Andy Langham Quartet, captured live in an intimate taping on May 21, 2026 at 7:30 pm.

This special night centers around pianist Andy Langham, a first-call jazz titan who has spent more than 15 years shaping the sound of Los Angeles studios and stages. As a longtime member of the Grammy Award–winning Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band, Andy has taken his fiery yet lyrical playing to audiences around the world, blending deep swing with Latin grooves and modern harmony.

For this concert, he’s joined by a powerhouse band:

  • Gerry Gibbs – a dynamic drummer with a fearless sense of swing and color
  • James Suter – a rock-solid bassist grounding the group with warmth and drive
  • Tito Carillo – a richly expressive trumpeter with both bite and elegance
  • Andy Langham – piano, leading with inventive solos and sophisticated arrangements

Langham’s résumé reads like a crash course in modern jazz and beyond. He has toured with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Natalie Cole, Christopher Cross, Christian McBride, Jane Monheit, New York Voices, Ray Price, Dewey Redman, Steve Tyrell, Ernie Watts, and many more. He has appeared on over 150 recordings, including five Grammy-nominated albums, and balances his performing career with teaching jazz piano at California State University Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona.

If you love hearing world-class musicians stretch out in a focused, no-distractions environment, this show is your kind of evening. The venue enforces a whisper-only policy during the taping, so every detail of the music can be heard and captured. It’s the kind of quiet that lets a delicate piano voicing hang in the air and a trumpet solo feel like it’s being played just for you.

The night stays relaxed and unpretentious with a BYOB setup. You can bring your favorite drink, with ice, wine keys, and cups provided, and pick up cold still or sparkling water on site. Doors open at 7:15 pm, giving you time to get settled and comfortable before the music begins at 7:30 pm sharp.

Expect an evening of modern straight-ahead jazz, Latin-tinged rhythms, and spontaneous interplay from four seasoned improvisers at the top of their game. For jazz fans, this isn’t just a concert; it’s a chance to be part of a live recording session and feel the energy of the room captured in real time.
