Marco Antonio Santos | IN/RAINBOWS

Details

Radiohead fans and jazz heads, this one’s for you. Marco Antonio Santos’ IN RAIN/BOWS project is taking over a cozy South Austin listening room for a special live taping and concert that turns the Radiohead catalog inside out in the best possible way.

The band is a supercharged sextet split into two trios: guitarist and arranger Marco Antonio Santos with Phil Spencer on bass and Brennan Howell on drums, plus a string trio featuring violinists Camille Schiess and Kimbo alongside cellist Diana Burgess. Together, they treat Radiohead’s songs as a playground for jazz harmony, chamber textures, and fearless improvisation.

  • Expect daring arrangements that move from delicate and atmospheric to rhythmically explosive, all while keeping the melodies and moods you love.
  • The setlist pulls from across Radiohead’s discography, so you might hear everything from haunting ballads to glitchy rock epics reimagined for this unique ensemble.
  • The string section leans into modern sounds with effects pedals, extended techniques, and spontaneous improvisation, giving the music an almost cinematic edge.
  • Every musician gets a chance to step into the spotlight, so no two performances of this project are ever quite the same.

Because this is a live taping, the room will be run like a true listening session, complete with a whisper-only policy so every nuance makes it to the recording. It’s an ideal setting if you love hearing every detail of a bowed texture, a cymbal swell, or a sly reharmonization tucked into a familiar chord progression.

This show is also BYOB, with cold still and sparkling water available for purchase and ice, wine keys, and cups on hand to keep things easy. Doors open just before showtime so you can settle in, pour a drink, and get ready to sink into an evening where jazz, rock, and classical traditions collide over the music of one of the most influential bands of the last 35 years.

If you’ve ever wondered what Radiohead would sound like filtered through lush strings, fearless improvisers, and a room full of attentive listeners, this is your chance to find out.
