Details

Esquina’s Youth Summer Camp “La Juventud” is a lively, bilingual summer adventure where kids ages 7–10 get to move, create, and perform in a fun Latin-inspired setting.

  • Date & Time: Kicking off Monday, June 15, 2026, at 9:00 am, this camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Camp Sessions: Choose from two week-long sessions: June 15–19 or July 13–17. Kids can join one or both weeks for extra fun.
  • Ages: Designed specifically for children 7–10 years old (7–10 años), making it the perfect camp for elementary-age movers and shakers.
  • What to Bring: A packed lunch and water bottle. A snack is provided daily.

This camp is all about helping kids discover the joy of movement while immersing them in the rhythms and colors of Latin culture.

  • Daily Activities (Monday–Friday):
    • Dance: Kids learn fun Latin dances, practicing rhythm, coordination, and expressive movement.
    • Music: They explore beats and melodies, clapping, stepping, and playing along as they learn to feel the music.
    • Art: Creative projects connect to dance and culture, letting campers draw, paint, and craft their way through the week.
    • More Fun: Group games, creative exercises, and collaborative activities keep energy high and friendships forming.
  • Special Theme Days:
    • Thursday – Splash Day! A playful water-themed day where kids cool off, splash around, and enjoy outdoor fun. Pack anything your child needs for water play.
    • Friday – Show & Tell at 3 pm: Families are invited to see what the kids have been working on all week. Campers share their new dance moves, art, and favorite camp moments in a kid-friendly “performance” style celebration.

Throughout the camp, students gain confidence, body awareness, and a deeper sense of rhythm, all in a supportive, upbeat environment. It is perfect for beginners and budding dancers alike—no previous experience required.

Registration Tips:

  • Create a Wellness Living account as the parent under your email.
  • Add your child as a family member to your profile.
  • Switch to your child’s profile to complete their camp enrollment.
  • If you run into any issues registering, you can reach out by email or phone for help.

Space is limited, so early registration is recommended to secure a spot. Supported in part by an Elevate Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music, this camp blends artistic education with joyful summertime fun—an energizing way for kids to spend a week dancing, creating art, making music, and shining on stage.
